Description

“The Tarzan stories are purely fictional”

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. letterhead, August 12, 1932. Letter to Lester Gassman. In part: “My latest Tarzan story is now appearing in the Blue Book Magazine, and Argosy Magazine will shortly publish The Pirates of Venus. The Tarzan stories are purely fictional.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and a bit of scattered mild toning, including all four corner tips. Burroughs is referring to Tarzan Triumphant, which ran in Blue Book Magazine from October of 1931 to March of 1932. Great direct reference to his memorable character. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
