Free-franked address panel, 9.75 x 8, and folded to an overall size of 5 x 3.5, addressed in another hand to “Messrs Cummings Hillian & Co,” and franked in the upper left, “Free Th: Jefferson,” and bearing a red circular cancellation under signature. Docketing above mailing fold on top bears a date of April 22, 1826, just three months before Jefferson’s death. In very good condition, with entire sheet having been professionally backed repairing vertical separations, scattered light toning and soiling, and some scattered foxing.
