Superb bust portrait of Lt. General Grant

Original vintage 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite bust portrait, by D. Fredericks and Company, and so stamped on the reverse, signed in black ink below the image, “U. S. Grant, Lt. Gen. U.S.A.” In March 1864, Lincoln promoted Major General Ulysses S. Grant to Lieutenant General and gave him the command of all the Union Armies. In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light foxing, and clipped lower corner tips. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
