First edition Art of Animation, signed by Disney and over 30 of his most famous animators, including all of his Nine Old Men

Signed book: The Art of Animation. First Edition, first printing. NY: Simon and Schuster, 1958. Hardcover, 8.25 x 11.25, 180 pages. Beautifully signed on the reverse of the first free page in black felt tip “Walt Disney.” Also signing on the same page as Disney is Eyvind Earle, the Major Art Director for Sleeping Beauty. In addition, the book is signed by 34 of Disney’s most famous animators, artists and designers, highlighted by the signatures of all nine of Disney’s Nine Old Men, signing across a two-page spread of the animators viewing portions of Sleeping Beauty in the “sweat box”: Frank Thomas, Milt Kahl, Ollie Johnston, Woolie Reitherman, Marc Davis, Eric Larson, John Lounsbery, Les Clark and Ward Kimball. Book is also signed by Disney Studio employees Carl Barks, T. Hee, Tom Oreb, Lee Blair, Joe Rinaldi, Bill Peet, Don DaGradi, Ken Anderson, Lew Ott, Bob Jones, Xavier Atencio, Bill Justice, Charles Nichols, Ernest Nordli, Don Griffith, Tom Codrick, Gerry Geronimi, Eric Larson, Willie Ito, Andy Engman, Ruben Apodaca, Bill Bosche, Nick Stewart, Marc Davis, and Mac Stewart. Mild toning and staining to covers, slight fraying to spine, and a mild shade of toning to inside pages, otherwise fine condition.
