Franking signature, “Free, James Madison,” on a 5 x 3.25 (panel size) postal cover addressed in his hand to Richard Peters, Judge in Philadelphia. In very good condition, with vertical fold, mild soiling and handling wear, and tear to top edge touching “Free” (repaired from reverse). The signature is clear, clean, and otherwise unaffected.
