In part: “In regard to your recent letter, I have contacted the Commanding General at Mitchell Air Force Base requesting that prompt and favorable action be taken on your application. Just as soon as I hear from him, I will let you know, and I certainly hope it will be good news. I am very grateful for your assistance in compiling the racial lists for me, and I will be glad to write to Tom Cagney and Austin Morley as you suggest….” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
