American physicist (1910–1989) and, more controversially, eugenicist, who won the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics for his development of the transistor. Original sketch of a transistor on a 6.5 x 3.5 FDC honoring “25 Years of Transistors,” signed in ballpoint, “W. Shockley.” In very fine condition. R&R COA.
