Died in 1967 in the Apollo spacecraft fire. He piloted the Liberty Bell 7 spacecraft, the second and final suborbital Mercury test flight, on July 21, 1961. FDC, 6.5 x 3.75, bearing a four cent Project Mercury postage stamp and a February 20, 1962, Cape Canaveral postmark, signed in the top left corner in red ballpoint, “Gus Grissom.” In fine condition.
