DS as president, one page, 8 x 10.5, White House letterhead, 1946. A typed Citation for Legion of Merit, Degree of Legionnaire. The text reads, in full: “Colonel Ivan. D. Statsenko, Red Army, displayed exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services as Commanding Officer, 22d Armored Brigade. He skillfully and bravely led his men in actions which contributed materially to the defeat of the common enemy in Europe in May 1945.” Accompanied by the original handsomely engraved certificate signed by two military officials.
