Description

The Poems of a Cold Bloodied Killer!

Along with Perry Smith, murdered the Clutter family. Their crime was chronicled in the Truman Capote book, In Cold Blood. Richard Hickock’s personal book of handwritten poetry. Leather bound book measures 9.5 x 11, contains thirty six handwritten poems, many multiple pages long, as well as ten candid glossy snapshots of relations of Hickcock or landscapes. Many of the poems are signed at the conclusion “R. E. H.” Also included in the book are several original pencil sketches, one of a young boy and the other of a landscape. Almost all of these appear to be original poems, with such titles as A Trail of the Apache Kid, Take Me Back, The Fire King, I Love You, What Will You Do and The Bloody Trail of Quantrill. The following is an excerpt from The Bloody Trail of Quantrill: “If you listen awhile, I’ve a story to tell, The story of William Clark Quantrill. The most feared renegade of his day! Who led his band in a cut throat way. In the civil war days of our frontier land, He led a savage guerilla band.” In fine condition, with some light page toning, some paper loss to a couple of pages and sturdy binding. A very interesting and insightful look into the mind of Hickock. In fine condition. R&R COA.
