Manuscript DS signed "O. Ellsworth," one page, 8.5 x 6.5, July 24, 1776. A pay order "to the select men of East Windsor, Twenty nine pounds Seventeen Shillings six pence for Arms…supplied the Troops raised…& Expense in procuring the same…& charge the Colony." Signed at the conclusion by Oliver Ellsworth, and countersigned by two other members of the Committee. In fine condition, with a faint "O" and a light last name. A significant document as the colonies prepare for war just two weeks after independence is declared.
