Description
Catch a Fire album by Bob Marley and the Wailers, signed and inscribed on the front cover in black felt tip, "Richard, Rasta fari guide, Bob Marley." In very good to fine condition, with scattered scratches to the surface, and creasing to the right side. The record is not included.
The first signed example of Marley's classic Catch a Fire that we've offered—the fifth studio album by The Wailers proved a significant turning point for both the celebrity of Marley and for the history of reggae music. When recording was completed, lsland label head and producer Chris Blackwell overdubbed the instruments to make them more appealing to a Western audience. Upon its release in the spring of 1973, Catch a Fire's fresh sound, coupled with its subsequent concert tour in England and the United States, quickly established the Wailers as international stars. A highly displayable, uncommon, and boldly signed album with cover art featuring Esther Anderson's portrait of Marley smoking a large spliff.
