Description

TLS in French, one page, 7.5 x 10.5, June 1, 1949. Written from Paris, a letter to a friend, in full (translated): "Mr. Barrier showed me your letter and I should like to reassure you myself about the state of my health. As many artists who work very hard I have been very tired and that's all. I am quite used to the meanness of certain artists, and when it occurs I am not at all surprised that it came from the person you mentioned in your letter. That's not very grave and is already part of a bad souvenir. How are you? I am sorry that you won't come to Paris this summer; and as I will be in America this Winter, I won't have the pleasure to see you. I shan't forget the marvelous welcome you gave me; I treasure the friendship of people like you. Maybe I'll go to Egypt next February? See you soon." In fine condition, with a short tear to the right edge.
