ALS signed “Donald K. Slayton, Capt. USAF,” one page, 8 x 10, Project Mercury letterhead, March 15, 1960. Letter to Ken Browne, in part: "Thank you for your good wishes and kind thoughts. It is gratifying to note your friendly interest in our program. One of the more rewarding aspects of this business is hearing from people such as yourself. I am in complete agreement with your opinions of desert living versus the mid-west. We spent four years in the Mojave Desert prior to this assignment and liked it very much. The mid-west is enjoyable in Spring and Fall but the those -25 winters and +95 summers leave much to be desired." In very good to fine condition, with staple holes to the upper left corner, and some faint toning. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Slayton's own hand.
