Description

TLS signed “W. McKinley,” one page, 5.5 x 9, personal letterhead, November 17, 1896. Letter to Albert Halstead of the Springfield Union, in part: "Were it at all possible I would be delighted to be present at your wedding, but with the increasing demands that are pressing upon me, I find that that will be impossible. Mrs. McKinley and I congratulate you and your prospective bride most heartily and we hope to meet you both ere long. I am rejoiced to learn that you find your new line of work agreeable to you and I am sure that you will make your mark." In fine condition, with a small stain within the text.
