Sister (1874-1929) of Wilbur and Orville Wright, who joined them in Pau, France, for their 1909 demonstration flights and was an early passenger in their aircraft. ALS signed “Katharine Wright,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 6.5, April 24, 1914. Letter to "Mrs. Needham," in part: "Surely it was not that I did not appreciate your 'shower' of daffodils and hyacinths and jellies that I have been so tardy in thanking you but because I have been in such vile moods that I didn't want to go near my desk…Father (and the rest of us) have been sampling his grape jelly to such an extent that one glass is done." A collector later affixed three postage stamps and had them postmarked in 2003 in honor of the centennial of the Wright Brothers' first flight. In very good to fine condition, with toning to the second page.
