Description
President of the French Second Republic and ruler of the Second French Empire (1808-1873). Manuscript DS in French, signed “N,” one page, 7.75 x 12.5, September 13, 1854. A pay voucher issued as "2911," which grants Francois Achille Dubois, (partly translated) "aged 71 years, old soldier of the Empire, staying in Boulogne, No. 32 Former Coast Road." Signed below by Napoleon III, who proceeds to add in his own hand: "To M. Fould, the 1st semester after July 1, to pay in advance." A secretarial note to the bottom indicates that Dubois will be paid about 200 francs per semester. In very good to fine condition. Accompanied by an engraving of the emperor bearing a preprinted signature, as well as a manuscript DS signed by Minister of States Achille Fould, dated July 11, 1853, granting Maurice Mayer the title of official Imperial Silversmith and Jeweler.
