Revolutionary War-dated manuscript DS, signed “O. Ellsworth,” one page, 8.25 x 4, December 12, 1776. Pay order issued to Treasurer John Lawrence, in part: "Pay to Ens: Joseph Andrews of Farmington who went to New York August last in Major Strong's Regiment of Militia the Sum of five pounds thirteen Shillings & ten pence money being cost for his Sickness." Signed at the conclusion by Oliver Ellsworth and Jesse Root as members of the Pay-Table Committee. Endorsed on the reverse by Andrews to confirm receipt. In fine condition.
