Handwritten lyrics to Collins's worldwide smash hit song ‘Another Day in Paradise,' one page, 9.25 x 11.5, signed in black ink on a separate off-white 9.25 x 2.75 slip, "Phil Collins…But Seriously, …But Seriously." ‘Another Day in Paradise’ was Collins’s seventh and final Billboard Hot 100 number-one single, the last number-one single of the 1980s, and the first of the 1990s. It won Collins the Grammy Award for the 1991 Record of the Year, and was nominated for Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male, and Best Music Video, Short Form. It also won the Best British Single award at the 1990 Brit Awards.
Collins pens all the verses and the chorus from the song, in part: "She calls out to the man on the street / 'Sir, can you help me?’ / ‘it's cold, and I've nowhere to sleep, / is there somewhere you can tell me?' / He walks on, doesn't look back, / he pretends he can't hear her / starts to whistle as he crosses the street / seems embarrassed to be there / Oh think twice, it's another day for you and me in paradise / Oh think twice, it's just another day for you, you and me in paradise.” Includes a color 17.5 x 9.5 ‘match print’ proof for the UK 45 RPM picture sleeve of ‘Another Day in Paradise,’ and a copy of the …But Seriously album, with the front text neatly matching the practice examples Collins pens on the signed sheet.
