Description

Sought-after silver-toned 27 x 40.25 poster for the 1986 film Under the Cherry Moon, signed in red felt tip, "Love God, Prince," who adds a cross below. Also includes an invitation to the world premiere of the film at the Centennial Theater in Sheridan, Wyoming, on July 1, 1986; an invitation to the premiere after party at the Holiday Inn in the Sheridan Convention Center; a laminated Warner Brothers badge for the film premiere; and a copy of the PRN Productions itinerary for the movie premiere. Rolled and in fine condition, with creasing and paper loss to the edges, easily matted out. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from PRN general manager Karen Krattinger, in part: "The…item was acquired by me while I was an employee for the musician, Prince Rogers Nelson, during the 1980s. Prince was really excited about the release of this movie…I put together the premiere gala with really short notice. It was a contest on MTV. The 10,000th call won the premiere in their home town. It was in Sheridan, Wyoming. They weren't ready for Prince—It was a 1-horse (1 theatre, 1 hotel) town and we took it over!" A magnificent display piece boasting a large Prince signature.
