Description
Handwritten and signed speech by Prince inside of a 5.75 x 8.75 card featuring his symbol on the front, circa 1993. Prince's acceptance speech for the 1993 Best International Artist Brit Award, intended for Kylie Minogue to read on his behalf. In full: "Dear Kylie, please read this note in acceptance 4 the Best International Artist Award—'Thank u! P.S.—In all my trips abroad, I can honestly say, I've never felt very far from home. As long as I live and there is an appreciation of what I do, I will continue to do...my best. Peace and New Power,' Prince." Interestingly, Prince sketched a small picture of an eye in every instance he used "I." Includes the envelope addressed in Prince's hand, "Kylie." In fine condition, with some brushing to writing. Minogue was a presenter at the 1993 Brit Awards and announced Prince as the winner of Best International Solo Artist, but at the last minute, the show’s producers ultimately asked Cher to read his speech. An excellent autographed Prince item representing his enormous success on the international stage. From the collection of Prince’s assistant Therese Stoulil. Pre-certified REAL. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Therese Stoulil.
