Hill country blues singer and guitar player (1906-1972) who had a career renaissance when he was recorded in 1959 by Alan Lomax and Shirley Collins. Uncommon 10.25 x 9.25 book photo of Mississippi Fred McDowell in a close-up playing pose, signed vertically in black ink, "Fred McDowell." Double-matted to an overall size of 15.75 x 11.75. In fine condition, with light creasing.
