Description


An extremely rare oversized jointed aluminum fragment of the Hindenburg’s superstructure. Twisted fragment measures 7.5 x 7, with bolted hinge still slightly flexible. Fragment was retrieved from the wreckage after the airship hit the ground at Lakehurst, New Jersey, on May 6, 1937. This relic was featured in the 20th century film, “The Hindenburg.” Provenance: Stanley Lehrer Collection; Ken Schultz, 1994. RRAuction COA.
