Extremely scarce original vintage circa 1973–74 color 16 x 19.5 Nike promotional poster featuring the outline of the letter "N," filled in with pictures of athletes wearing Nike athletic shoes. Among those depicted are legendary distance runner Steve Prefontaine, Portland Trail Blazers guard Geoff Petrie (credited as the first NBA player to switch from Converse to Nike), Romanian tennis player Ilie Năstase (the first professional sports figure to sign an endorsement contract with Nike), and collegiate athletes from Oregon, Oregon State, and USC, interspersed with close-up product shots of Nike footwear. In fine condition, with tack holes to corners. An exceedingly hard-to-find early Nike advertising poster, we have been unable to locate any similar examples.
