Two items: an ALS signed "Robert N. McClelland, M.D.," one page, 8.5 x 11, June 17, 1994, in full: "I was on duty at Parkland Hospital in Dallas on the day President Kennedy was assassinated"; and a glossy 6 x 4 photo of John F. Kennedy's presidential limousine in front of an entrance to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, following the arrival of President John F. Kennedy, November 22, 1963, signed in black felt tip, "Kenneth Salyer." In overall fine condition, with slight haloing to ink in McClelland's letter.
Both Robert N. McClelland and Kenneth Salyer were Parkland Memorial Hospital physicians who treated President John F. Kennedy after he was rushed there on November 22, 1963. McClelland, then a surgeon on the Parkland staff, assisted with Kennedy’s emergency treatment in Trauma Room One and later also helped treat Lee Harvey Oswald after he was shot by Jack Ruby. Salyer, a 27-year-old first-year surgical resident who was on call for neurosurgical cases, likewise participated in Kennedy’s treatment and later testified before the Warren Commission about what he observed.
