Description

(Walt Disney Studios, 1963) Original production drawing of Merlin from The Sword in the Stone, picturing the powerful wizard in a half-length pose as he carries a stack of books that are awkwardly pressed up against his face. Accomplished in graphite on untrimmed 15.5 x 12.5 animation paper marked "B6" in the lower right corner. Character image measures 5.75 x 8.75. According to the consignor, the drawing corresponds to the scene at 12:03 on Disney+ in which Merlin shouts ‘No. Oh! When when blast it all’ at the sugar bowl as it continues pouring sugar into his overflowing teacup. The consignor notes that Milt Kahl oversaw Merlin’s animation in this scene. In fine condition.
