Description

Apollo 12’s first lunar EVA in 95 original red-numbered NASA photographs, documenting Conrad and Bean’s descent to the Ocean of Storms and sweeping views toward Surveyor Crater

Collection of 95 official color glossy 10 x 8 red-numbered photographs from the Apollo 12 mission, comprising ninety-one frames from Magazine 46 and four frames from Magazine 47, each bearing "A Kodak Paper" watermarks to the reverse. The images document the mission's first extravehicular activity, including the descent of Commander Charles Conrad and Lunar Module Pilot Alan L. Bean down the ladder of the Lunar Module Intrepid onto the surface of the Ocean of Storms, their deployment of scientific equipment for the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package, and extended panoramic sequences of the terrain surrounding Surveyor Crater, into which the astronauts would visit during the mission’s second EVA to examine and retrieve components from the unmanned Surveyor 3 spacecraft. In overall very good to very fine condition, with many photos in exceptional, unflawed shape, while others bear varying degrees of wear, such as tears, paper loss, stains, edgewear, and creasing.
