Accompanied by an original press photograph showing Minnelli holding the award after receiving it in Lecce, Italy, on December 20, 1975, and a program from the fourth United States presentation of the Rodolfo Valentino Awards in 1988, which identifies Minnelli and Marcello Mastroianni as the 1975 award winners.
Named in honor of Italian-born silent-screen icon Rudolph Valentino, the award was presented annually in his native region of Puglia to distinguished figures in international cinema. Minnelli received the 1975 honor in Lecce for her achievements in motion pictures, three years after winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for Cabaret.
