Kearns, Eisenhower offers condolences on the death of Kearns’s mother: “Mrs. Eisenhower and I were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of your mother, and our friend. We join in sending you and the other members of your family our deepest sympathy.”
Letter from President Nixon signed “RN,” 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, January 12, 1973. Sent to “Jeane and Jim,” Mr. and Mrs. James L. Dixon, thanking them for remembering his 60th birthday: “Your kind message of birthday greetings helped to make January 9 an especially enjoyable day for me, and this note is just to thank you for your thoughtfulness and friendship. With my appreciation and best wishes.”
