Collection of 10 flown Space Shuttle flags and mission patches presented to Al Templeton, each mounted to an original certificate of authenticity measuring 8.5 x 11 or 11 x 8.5, which bear printed facsimile astronaut signatures. The missions include (patch unless otherwise noted): STS-1 (American flag), STS-26 (U.S. Air Force flag), STS-28, STS-29, STS-30, STS-34, STS-41, STS-43, and STS-44 (2: American flag and mission patch). In overall fine condition, with light toning and edgewear, including binder dings, and the STS-43 patch detached but present.
Accompanied by a printed Department of the Air Force letter of appreciation to Templeton for his contributions to the STS-44 Defense Support Program mission, and a certificate presented to Al Templeton incorporating a genuine swatch of Multilayer Insulation (MLI) removed during production of the IUS-15 Inertial Upper Stage used on STS-43, signed in ink by USAF officers Norman H. Buchanan and Daryl J. Joseph.
