Description

Courvoisier-presented original production cel of Snow White in a charming full-figure pose as the Evil Queen's scullery maid

(Walt Disney Studios, 1937) Original production cel of Snow White and two small songbirds from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, picturing the film's title character standing behind a curtain in a full-length pose, wearing her ragged dress as the scullery maid of her stepmother, the Evil Queen. The cel has been trimmed and applied to a hand-painted background as prepared by Courvoisier Galleries for sale. Character images measure 3 x 7.5 (Snow White) and 1.25 x .75 (birds), with a mat opening of 6.5 x 10.25. Matted to an overall size of 13.5 x 18; reverse bears a Walt Disney label that reads: "This is an original painting on celluloid from the Walt Disney Studios, actually used in the filming of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.' Only a very limited number have been selected to be placed on the market." In very good to fine condition, with slight rippling and some lifting and loss to the paint, namely to Snow White's hand and leg.
