- TLS signed "J.P.G.," three pages on two sheets, 8.5 x 11, June 19, 1956. Hand-corrected letter to "Mr. Scott" on behalf of the Getty Oil Company in Kuwait, Persian Gulf. In part: "I would appreciate it if you could send me the following: a complete Oil Well Supply catalogue with current prices…National Supply Coy catalogue with current prices…list of Casing, Tubing and Line Pipe, all sizes, with current prices, also Drill Pipe with tool joints. A price list of Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge sedans, pick-ups and trucks. The present ocean freight rates and insurance on the above items, from two or three U.S. ports…Also please tell me if it is not practicable to ship the above items via deck cargo to Minna Saud on our tankers. Please have Spartan Cafeteria prepare a food requisition with quantities and prices for my consideration. This requisition should cover a sixty day supply for thirty (30) men in Senior Staff and thirty five (35) men in Junior Staff. Please make the requisition separately and also send a requisition to feed one hundred (100) labourers for sixty (60) days. The Senior Staff is American, the Junior Staff and labourers are Oriental. I will hope that the food cost for the Labourers would not be over 50 cents a day, the Junior Staff 1 dollar a day, and the Senior Staff 1.50 dollars a day. Meat should be furnished in whole carcasses, canned goods in largest size cans. It will be necessary to bring this food in on our own tankers, and it may be necessary to fit some additional deep freeze capacity into our tankers, built and building…P.S. I would like some of the very best Californian ice-cream, sent to me by the next tanker, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, walnut flavours, possibly 5 gallons of each. How long will this ice-cream keep in a deep-freezer? And what is the most advantageous size container for shipment? I would also like a good personal supply of Aunt Jemima's Buckwheat Pancake Flour, and some pure Maple Syrup in cans, should be 100% real maple syrup, and a supply of Waffle Flour Mix, Corn Meal for corn meal mush, and corn flour for Corn Bread."
- Carbon letter from Dr. Fadil Al Kabbani of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Directorate General of Petroleum & Mineral Affairs, one page, 8.25 x 10.75, August 20, 1956. Kabbani informs the Getty Oil Company that they have "established a center for guards at Wafra in the Neutral Zone consisting of a chief, six guards, a cook, a tractor and a driver. Their expenses will amount to $720 per month." Getty signs an autograph endorsement below: "OK, J.P.G, Please inform the Amir and Walter Scott that this is approved and is as agreed upon."
