Artemis II was NASA's first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years, successfully completing a 10-day lunar flyby from April 1 to April 10, 2026. Unlike the Apollo missions, the four-person crew did not enter lunar orbit. Instead, they flew a free-return trajectory that looped around the far side of the Moon before splashing down safely in the Pacific Ocean.
