Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed 12 x 9.5 animation paper, marked "229" in the lower right corner. Image measures 2.5 x 2.5. In fine condition.
The Mad Doctor is a 1933 black-and-white Mickey Mouse short in which Mickey dreams that a sinister scientist has kidnapped Pluto for a bizarre experiment. It is one of Disney’s darker early cartoons, mixing horror-parody imagery with slapstick before revealing the whole nightmare was just Mickey asleep.
