The badge depicts the head of Athena facing a laurel branch and encircled by a dark blue enameled border with the text, "Olympic Games London 1908, Referee." The pin on the back remains intact, but its hoop closure is missing. A decidedly uncommon official’s badge from an Olympic Games that extended for over six months—the longest in modern history.
