Description

Set of 11 NASA mission charts prepared and published by the Defense Mapping Agency Aerospace Center for NASA, each measuring approximately 40.5 x 15, documenting planned Space Shuttle missions from the early 1980s. The detailed folded charts present orbital ground tracks, mission timelines, launch and landing data, geographic reference information, and operational flight planning material associated with NASA’s expanding Shuttle-era program. The group includes:

- STS-8 Mission Chart, Edition 1, May 1983
- STS-9/SL-1 Mission Chart, Edition 1, July 1983
- STS 13/41-C Mission Chart, Edition 1, October 1983
- STS 14/41-D Mission Chart, Edition 1, February 1984
- STS 51-A Mission Chart, Edition 1, August 1984
- STS-51E Mission Chart, Edition 1, October 1984
- STS-51B Mission Chart, Edition 2, December 1984
- STS-51F Mission Chart, Edition 1, March 1985
- STS-51G Mission Chart, Edition 2, March 1985
- STS 51-D/R Mission Chart, Edition 2, March 1985 (2 examples)

The missions represented here span a pivotal period in Shuttle operations, from the program’s first night launch aboard STS-8 and the groundbreaking Spacelab mission STS-9 through the increasingly ambitious commercial, military, and scientific flights of 1984–1985. Particularly notable are charts for STS-41C, the Solar Maximum Mission repair flight; STS-41D, Discovery’s maiden voyage; and the Spacelab-focused STS-51B mission. Intended for navigational and operational reference, these large-format aerospace charts reflect the technical precision and logistical complexity of NASA’s Shuttle program during its rapid expansion phase. In overall very good to fine condition, with expected handling wear, creasing, and fold lines from use and storage.
