Crystal Pokal issued for the boxing tournament of the Berlin 1936 Summer Olympics, measuring 15.5˝ in height with a removable domed, bell-shaped lid. The finely crafted presentation cup is intricately cut throughout with dense geometric starburst and crosshatch designs, featuring a frosted wheel-engraved scene of two Olympic boxers in competition to the central reserve. The vessel is additionally engraved “Olympia 1936” and “Berlin Boxturnier,” identifying it with the boxing events held during the Games of the XI Olympiad in Berlin. The base of the chalice is etched with the words, “Ehrenpreis des Osterreichischen Olympia Fonds [Honorary Award of the Austrian Olympic Fund].” The removable domed lid is similarly cut with faceted decoration and topped by a frosted, engraved Reichsadler finial.
