American film director (1898–1964) best known for iconic collaborations with the Marx Brothers, which included Monkey Business (1931) and Horse Feathers (1932). Two items: a vintage matte-finish 10 x 13 photo of Norman Z. McLeod, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to actress Eleanor Powell, "To Eleanor, with love, Norman," adding sketches of a heart, a lady, and a dancing dog; and a similar original unsigned sketch of a lady and dog, accomplished by McLeod in pencil on a yellow 8.5 x 11 lined sheet. In very fine condition.
