Description

American politician and abolitionist from Maryland (1828–1891) who served as a United States Representative, United States Senator, and as Postmaster General of the United States appointed by President Ulysses S. Grant. ALS signed “J. A. J. Creswell,” one page, 5 x 8, January 1, 1878. Handwritten letter to Mrs. Joseph James Taylor of Baltimore, in part: I am in receipt of your kind note, and shall take great pleasure in complying with your request. Unless obliged to forego my present purpose, I shall visit Baltimore in a day or two, and call upon you at your new home." In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services.
