Description

Official staple-bound NASA manual for manned Skylab missions 2, 3, and 4, entitled “Launch Vehicle Ground Support Planning Document” (Report #PM-MO-2-72), 39 pages, 8.5 x 11, issued by the Mission Operations Office in May 1972. The manual contains five sections: Introduction, Mission Description, System Descriptions, Vehicle/Network Interface, and Mission Support, in addition to 15 figures and tables.

The introduction reads: “Purpose and Scope. The ‘Launch Vehicle Ground Support Planning Document’ is a synopsis of ground support for launch and orbital phases of the Skylab 2, 3, and 4 missions. This document is designed to ensure sufficient data is available to determine that mission objectives have been met. The planning document will define the ground network support, related problems of implementing the required support, and recommend approaches for real-time and postflight operations evaluation. Telemetry, tracking and command requirements for the launch vehicle and the launch vehicle experiments (M415 and S150) are included.” In fine condition, with wear to cover edges and textblock, including creases, small tears, toning, and rust marks.
