Remarkable original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of Sitting Bull standing in a full-length, profile pose, wearing a feathered headdress with long trailing feathers down his back, draped in an ornately beaded bandolier bag, and holding a long rifle across his body. Imprinted on the mount, "Sitting Bull. Wm. Notman & Son, Montreal," with the studio's ornate crest imprinted on the reverse. In fine condition, with ink and pencil notations to the lower border and reverse. A sharp, dramatic portrait of the legendary Hunkpapa Lakota leader.
