'Buffalo Bill' Cody clad in his beaver-trimmed buffalo-hide coat and broad-brimmed Stetson, taken in the mid-1870s by James U. Stead of New York City. Imprinted on the mount with the photographer's credit: "James U. Stead, 383 6th Ave., N.Y." In fine condition. An exceptional portrait of the well-dressed Wild West showman on the brink of international fame.
