The cel depicts Elliott the friendly dragon in a large full-figure pose, and is placed on a photographic color background of a cave with a small campfire. The Elliott image measures 6 x 6.75, and is matted to an overall size of 20 x 16. The storyboard drawing, which was accomplished in graphite by Ken Anderson on an off-white 7 x 5.5 sheet of artist paper, depicts Elliott sleeping as two members of the Grogan family sneak up to kidnap him, signed below in ballpoint by Anderson. The drawing is affixed to an 11 x 10 backing sheet. In overall fine condition.
Kenneth B. Anderson (1909–1993) was an art director and writer at Walt Disney Animation Studios for 44 years. He was a key player in some of the studio's most well-known animated films, such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and The Jungle Book. Anderson, who also helped develop Disneyland, was a 1991 winner of the Disney Legends award for Animation & Imagineering.
