Impressive original cable section of the Golden Gate Bridge from 1935-1936, measuring 2.75˝ in diameter, 2.5˝ in height, and weighing 2.5 pounds, comprised of a bound and braided suspension cable of seven multi-strand lines. Includes a wooden display base and two certificate of authenticity booklets, one of which reads: “This original Golden Gate Bridge cable was set in place 1935-36. New cable was installed in 1973-75. The present cable will not be replaced for 100 years. Obviously there is just a limited amount of original cable available — the only true, genuine, non-imitative souvenir of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco, California, U.S.A.” In fine condition.
