Block of wood removed from the White House during its expansive renovations undertaken by Harry S. Truman in 1950, measuring 5˝ x 2.5˝ x 2.25˝, with the front bearing its original metal plaque, "Original White House Material Removed in 1950.” Pinned to the top is a period presentation caption, which reads: “Original White House Material (White Pine Timbers) / Presented to The Norton County Museum by Mrs. Iris Olson, County Superintendent, Norton, Kansas, March 13, 1951.” In fine condition, with wear to the presentation sheet.
