(Walt Disney Studios, 1989) Attractive pair of original production drawings of Ariel and Scuttle from The Little Mermaid. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed animation paper measuring 12.5 x 10 and 17 x 12.5 (Scuttle), the drawing shows Ariel in a concerned three-quarter-length pose, her eyes wide and her hand touching her suddenly voiceless throat, and the eccentric seagull in a large half-length pose with wings up in a state of confusion. Character images measure 4.25 x 7 (Ariel) and 12 x 8.25, and the lower sections of the drawings are marked “0497, 006-302, 39” and “35.” In overall fine condition. The Ariel drawing is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Howard Lowery.
