Description

Superb circa 1903 matte-finish 12.5 x 9.5 Pach Bros. portrait photograph of President Theodore Roosevelt, his wife, Edith, and their six children — (from left to right)Quentin, Theodore, Jr., Archie, Alice (Roosevelt's daughter from his first marriage), Kermit, and Ethel — posing together at Sagamore Hill. Affixed to its original 17 x 13.75 studio mount. In very good to fine condition, with staining to the mount, not affecting the image. On July 12, 1903, photographers from the Pach Brothers photographic studio traveled to Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay, New York, the home of President Theodore Roosevelt and his family, and the summer White House. There, Roosevelt and his family escaped the heat of the Washington summer to enjoy the breezes of the Long Island Sound.
