Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang is a children’s adventure novel written by Ian Fleming and originally published in three separate volumes in 1964–65. Inspired by stories Fleming told his son, the tale follows the eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, his family, and their magical, gadget-filled car, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, which can fly, float, and think for itself. Delivered with Fleming’s signature blend of imagination and light suspense, these tales were famously adapted for the screen in the 1968 musical film starring Dick Van Dyke and Sally Ann Howes.
