Aldus Corporation was a software company founded in 1984 in Seattle, Washington. It is best known for developing PageMaker, one of the first desktop publishing programs, which revolutionized the publishing industry when introduced on the Apple Macintosh. The combination of PageMaker, the Macintosh, and the LaserWriter printer helped launch the desktop publishing revolution. In 1994, Aldus was acquired by Adobe Systems, and many of its technologies were integrated into Adobe’s product line.
