Description

Manuscript DS, signed “A True Copy, Witness Henry Ward, Sec'y,” one page, 7.25 x 11.75, June 1784. A true copy of an act of the Rhode Island General Assembly "empowering the Delegates of this State to take their Seats in Congress, on November the First A.D. 1784, and to continue a year from the time." In part: "Be it enacted by this General Assembly, and by the Authority thereof it is enacted, that William Ellery, David Howell and John Brown Esquires (Henry Marchant Esq'r having resigned) who were chosen Delegates to Congress, at the Election in May last, shall serve in Congress for one year, to commence on the First Monday in November." In fine condition.
